千年文化舊史新識 嶄新視野重寫歷史 歷史學家希爾（Christopher Hill）說：「每一代人都要重寫歷史。」哲學家和史學家克羅齊（Benedetto Croce）說：「一切歷史都是當代史。」歷史也許不會改變，但是人們對歷史的認識、編寫歷史的內容與角度，卻會隨時代的變化和新的材料與方法而有所不同，因此每一代人都會重寫歷史。一些歷史定見多年來被奉為圭皋，然而它們卻不一定有充分的考證。本書分為兩編，上編「新史觀下的中國歷史」嘗試詰問過往因循的史學觀念，以嶄新的角度、豐富多樣的文獻史料，結合現代的研究成果，重新詮釋歷史，呈現豐富立體的歷史社會圖像，提供新的和正確的歷史知識。作者認為中國是世界的一個部分，不能孤立地研究中國歷史，故在下編「全球史視野中的中國歷史」中，把中國史放到全球史研究的框架內，檢視中國與周邊國家、西方以至全世界的歷史，分析彼此的關係、互動與影響，讓讀者在中國歷史的廣闊天地中翱翔。-- from back cover |
